You are amazingly consistent. When you guys are so wonderful at making beautiful food, it is absolutely amazing how you have mastered the art of enjoyment without having too much. So many things I could learn from you!

And @melissa .. A couple of things that have helped me are : (1) make food delicious so every bite with be mindfully consumed (2) Realizing that the 1st bite of an item is the almost always the most pleasurable, ie the law of diminishing returns (enjoyment) applies to food (3) no seconds - I fill my playe with the amount that visually should satiate me
Anyway, hope that helps💜

Those are such good things to think about. Growing up in a large family and then having one meant volume was priority when cooking. Tasty treats were quickly consumed and if passed by would not be available for another time most likely. The other day my husband and I took the time to make a little meal for ourselves... Just us. Neither of us was working and the house was almost empty. It was so nice and really fun. I love my gang, but when we are able to do more of those kinds of meals and a different way of shopping, I can imagine things being changed

Completely hear ya M 💜 Big family myself - Depression Era parents; question was always "Are you full? Can you eat anymore vs. "Are you still hungry/(satiated)?" Seemingly innocent difference but major implications if not burning those cals. Just know that being empty-nested and retired has helped me.

Love your guidelines for success! It's so true about the law of diminishing returns!!!

I also like sk's intelligent, civilized guidelines for success. I know the stuff about the first bite being the best and the rest not being as worthwhile. It's a constant struggle between my pig self and the intellectual.

As intellectual as I come across sometimes, my inner oink-oink knows no bounds when it comes to tortilla chips ... 🐷😋😂

Tortilla chips are the devil. Especially if they are fresh.
