I have a registered nutritionist I consult with every couple of weeks sometimes more, sometimes less. Helps me stay the course, better than fad diets and helps me figure out past mistakes and corrections. Never a lecture. Highly recommend. Our focus is on healthy for me, not anyone else.

While you're waiting for your appointment, try standing behind a chair and marching in place for one or two minutes. as much as you can and ten seconds more. the next day, do 1/2 minute more. you'll learn to love moving and it will help just as much as any food adjustments along your journey.

You've got this! It may not always feel like it, but just know that you can do it. I have type 1 diabetes, and sometimes I get side effects like exhaustion, just out of nowhere. I didn't think I would ever get on track, but I'm starting to do just that. As others have said, take it one day at a time. Having a dietitian is already a really helpful step. The most helpful strategy for me is small but frequent meals. (I've had a history with binge-eating from anxiety so the opposite works best for me.) But everyone is different, and what works for me might not for you.

today I started the 3day fasting and I've already lost 3 pounds and I've drank nothing but water all day and that might work for you

I enjoy clean eating recipes and focusing on how much fresh produce I eat and minimize the processed foods. You’re going to do great!!!

A dietician is a great start but like with everything you also must put in the work and do your own research. There is an abundance of information available online. Just be careful not to fall into fads and try to read things that are scientifically backed up. Also just understanding simple nutrition like how to read labels etc is something you can start doing while you wait. This site also posts a lot of info that may interest you and you can do your own own research from there on. Good luck!!!

you can do it. start with a goal to loose for the week. it doesn't matter hope much. we're didn't get fat overnight and we're not going to get thin overnight either.

I am so saddened for you that it has come to this point. As you now know, fatty liver is a serious issue. Do you have diabetes yet? It is a really good step to have requested a dietician consult. Meantime, you might do a little home schooling about nutrition in general so that when you do see the dietician you can have a meaningful conversation with her— the the vocabulary and concepts won’t be entirely foreign. It will help you get so much more from the consultations. Good start decreasing portions but I would also invest in a food scale, they are not expensive, and learn to read labels. A real safe place to start is to try to significantly decrease processed foods, fast foods, sodas. I was going to say best of luck, but luck has nothing to do with it. It sounds like you are ready to make a lifestyle change. I will look forward to following your progress.

Another thing you might try when transitioning your way of eating is to not go full on 24-7. Start out by saying this week on MWF I will eat my new way. The other days allow yourself more freedom. The next week go healthy M-F and allow yourself the weekend more freedom. The next week make it 6 days healthy and one day of more freedom. For many people it is the transition that is the most difficult. Allow yourself to transition your way of eating. You will quickly find you feel better and that will be your motivation. The marching in place is a great idea. I have done that after foot surgery but stood in the kitchen were to cabinets join and held on to the countertop. Knees up ! All the best to you.

You can do this! You made the right choice to work with a professional. Please keep in mind that you decide what professional works with you best to get the results you need.

You are currently the result of the choices you have made thus far. There is a lot of manipulative information out there that prey on people who have given their power away. If you choose, I may help you. I understand your confusion and seek to guide you heal internally so that you may manifest that on your outer experience. Body weight is the result of health according to the individuals constitution and will express itself beautifully when appropriate conditions arise. I wish you the best on you journey. Be strong, believe in yourself and learn to distinguish between truth and illusion, LaiyLah

That's probably a good idea. That sounds like a condition that needs expert help. Good luck!
