Good morning! (Well, actually, good day)
It's post Indulgence Day, and I decided to weigh in again. I'm up 3 lbs since yesterday, which is perfectly normal. I have no problem with that. They - and more - will drop througout the next week.
I did great on my calories yesterday - having a great day out with Wife, and guests over for movies last night.
We fully (ab)used Indulgence Day. Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bread, ham and cheese, buffet at lunch time, and Wife's awesome pot roast for dinner. Snacks? I had a smoothie, tangerines, grapes...
PLEASE NOTE! Nothing with real sugar, other than fruit. No candy!
The result? Well, in a way this is NOT good, I was too low for Indulgence Day. I had 500 calories left that I could have used, but opted not to.
I'm not really in any risk of stalling right now, so there is no concern when it comes to this.
So, today I am back on my 1600 calorie schedule. I have been at the gym, done my workout, and we're essentially killing time before I go practice with Burnin' Live!
We're killing time watching Legend Of The Guardians 3D. Wow. Just Wow. I don't think I have ever seen a more impressive animated movie. The animation is incredible, and the 3D is astonishing. I highly recommend it.
So, as I said, I went to the gym this morning. Friday afternoon, I put up a little ad for my weight loss class, and I put up 20 flyers. Well, this morning
14 were gone! Woohoo! This means (at least, I think so) that 14 people were interested enough in my class that they took one! Nice! Now, of course, nobody says they'll all sign up - but hopefully a couple will. Only time will tell.
I put up 50 more flyers, so there are plenty to give out. As I was working out, I noticed several looking at them, and one took one. Another came to chit chat about it after the class, and took one. :)
I'd like to say thank you to all who has been commenting on my journal lately. You have all commented on me finding my good old positive attitude again. I'm not sure WHAT has actually changed, but I do feel super motivated to do this, and I feel that I am accomplishing my missions. It's a great feeling.
It's really not much more than just doing it, and keeping doing it. We all know how easy this is to SAY, but how hard it can be to DO. Talking the talk is never gonna be enough in the weight loss game. You gotta walk the walk too. And right now, I am super motivated to walk that walk.
Now I just need to walk it for a couple of months! LOL!
I've been thinking a lot about maintenance, and it really doesn't seem too intimidating to me. Sure, maintenance is hard, but I think it's very accomplishable.
I'm starting to set up some rules for myself for when I get there. It's all essentially about reasonable portions, and restricting myself when I stray from the path.
My main reasoning is this:
There are three main meals. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
If my maintenance RDI is about 2500 calories (which I believe it will be), then I essentially have 800 calories per meal. Easy. Actually, MORE than easy. The tricky part is that "easy" will tempt me to stray from the path.
So, the trick - I think - could be to set up some rules. If you have one larger/unhealthier meal one day, then the other meals have to be more reasonable.
I'll generally be starting the day off with a reasonable breakfast. If I then choose to have a heavy lunch, then dinner will have to be light. On the other hand, if I know I'm having a heavy dinner, then I need to be more reasonable on lunch. It makes perfect sense. And actually makes it pretty simple.
The same goes with snacks. Go ahead and have healthy snacks between meals. Don't over-do it. If you choose to have bad snacks, chocolate, candy, then ALL meals that day needs to be good.
So, essentially, ONE bad thing on the days you go eat bad foods.
What do you guys think? Would that work? In my head, it makes perfect sense.
Anyways, I better get back to our movie.
Today, I'm thankful for:
- People showing interest in my weight loss classes!
- Having a fun day yesterday.
- Having Monday off from work! Long weekend!
- Doing great, even on Indulgence Day!
