I quit smoking. I've been blessed with a not so difficult time quitting, and I'm grateful, so grateful. I didn't plan on quitting, but one morning I thought, "I wonder what will happen if I put my cigarettes in the console and chew a piece of nicotine gum instead of smoking?" Well... now it's six days later. My weight has been stable and not moving down for the last month, so I'm not freaking out by this plateau, I'm just grateful it didn't go UP this week. I've indulged in compulsive eating behaviors because of the lack of cigarettes. I've eaten things that I shouldn't, especially later in the evening. I can follow the SBD until dinner, then I'm loading up on carbs. I wonder why that is?

Quitting smoking, though? I feel 1,000 times better. The cough I've had resolved completely within 24 hours, my sense of smell returned, my taste returned and it's like I have recovered 100% in 6 days.

Great job! I'm trying to quit smoking as well--although I'm not doing as quite as good as you. As long as I'm not around them--I'm ok--but, as soon as I'm around a friend or family member with a cigarette--I'm dying for one. but, I do agree with you--I all ready feel 100% better. The same goes with dinner as well. I can stay away from carbs all day--but by evening I'm blowing it. Anyways, Keep up the good work and best of luck to you!

That's terrific! I gave up smoking about 25 years ago and vowed never to pick another one up. I can't imagine smoking now. I ate a lot of hard candy when I was quitting. Best of luck on quitting this bad habit for good.

You go! That's going to make it harder. I heard that having crunchy veggies around helps with the need to ave something in your mouth. Good luck!!

That is the best gift you can give yourself and your family. It is hard to quit, but once you get through the habit part, it becomes easier. Chop up some carrot and celery sticks for evening munching. Having something to crunch seems to calm the crave for carbs...
