I'm kinda bummed!!
I thought I was trucking along great today.. knew I was going to go out to dinner with a friend tonight...and I ate one of the Atkins bars to tied me over around 5.15 for an evening meal around 7.30. I started entering my food journal...and low and behold..the friggin' thing has 11 net carbs. (&%(&*#$(&*&^ pissed me off. Just venting. ugh. Chalk that one up to a newbie mistake.

Diet Calendar Entry for 10 April 2010:
1647 kcal Fat: 103.54g | Prot: 144.05g | Carb: 47.82g.   Breakfast: water, STEVIA, GIARDINIERA RELISH, SPINACH, CHEDDAR CHEESE, HERBAL TEA, POACHED EGG. Lunch: WATER, mustard, duke's mayo, cheddar, wish bone salad spritzer, roast turkey, MIXED SALAD, half and half. Dinner: water, caesar salad, asparagus, steak. Snacks/Other: celery stalk, ATKINS DOUBLE BAR. more...

those atkins bars are usually under 4 carbs which one did you eat?

We all make mistakes when we are new - and sometimes when we aren't - keep up the good work I see you are losing very well!

It was the Carmel Dbl Choc. Crunch. If you go by the back...it does come out 11 carbs..but the front says 3 net carbs. Confusing. Oh well...on to good choices today. Thanks for the encouragement!

Your carb count for that bar IS 3 net carbs. They aren't allowed to list the glycerin they use to make up the carbs (thanks FDA!) so they aren't on the label for you to subtract. That's why it comes out 11 when you do the calculations, but it really is 3 net carbs because they are subtracting the glycerin. Confusing but that's how it works!
