Hey FS Warriors
We did it! We are on the last round of chemo and Friday we will be done. Like every Chemo Wednesday I am tired but since this started I'm always tired. I have to wait until the 27th to get a PET scan that hopefully shows there is no cancer anywhere else. It should as my blood work has consistently shown no signs of me progressing to Stage 4.
I want to thank you all for the tremendous love, prayers and support you have given me during my battle. The finish line is only a few steps away and I don't know I would have made it without you guys lifting me up and keeping motivated with your individual stories. You've often called me inspiring in my battle but I was inspired by so many of you at the same time.
Sunday and Tuesday I was able to complete 30 minute jogs, Sunday at the better half's pace for 25 minutes and Tuesday at a faster pace and completed 2.6 miles and with my warm up and cool down walks I hit 5k (3.1 miles). Slower than last year as I was running a 5K at around 30 minutes but not bad for 51 year old man on chemo with a hernia.
Today's picture is with my Chemo nurses. My name isn't Charlie but I was lucky enough to have these two angels get me through chemo treatments. Good nurses make all the difference between a good experience and a bad one and Jess and Kristen were wonderful throughout. Good patients also make a difference; attitude matters.
I brought them flowers, chocolates and the ingredients for each of their favorite drinks so they can celebrate the end of chemo with me. I thanked them both and told them I hope I never see either one of you again in a professional setting.
Keep Ginding
Bill
