@philrmcknight's Journal, 21 March 2017

It was around this time last year I hit my original goal of 220 pounds, I don't recall the exact date, but it was well ahead of schedule. I started in June of 2015 at ~450 pounds. Took less than a year to lose 230 pounds. Find what works for you and stick with it. You, too, can reach your goals. Ignore people that think they have all the answers, they don't. I don't. Weight loss is a personal battle fought both within the physical realm and in the mind and you've got to address both if you wish to be successful. Good luck to everyone fighting their battles, it's worth the work!

Phil- Can I ask a personal question? How did your skin recover from such a dramatic weight loss? I'm sure that's probably rude, but I'm honestly worried about that. I've always had stretchy/loose skin from having my babies, but I've only lost about 20 pounds and already my stomach is 'hangier'. I swear guys skin bounces back from weight loss better, so maybe it won't compare, but I am curious. If you don't mind.

Ideal Weight, great question! lol I do have some saggy skin, but it's not nearly as bad as I imagined it would be. I chalk half of it up to just being older, but it snapped back remarkably well, and the more time goes by the more it seems to firm up. Your results may vary.

Eating the right food feeds your whole body and increases your life span. That goes for your skin too. Collagen rich foods will help your skin rejuvenate itself. I keep a bottle of coconut oil, with a little lavender oil mixed in, on my bathroom counter. It's great for your skin and nails and it's natural. Use it after showers.

You are my HERO!!! I love reading your posts, makes me believe it is possible to reach my goal. I have less than 20 lbs to go, but progressing at a snails pace. I must work harder!
