TheNaturalState's Journal, 27 December 2016

Well, not keeping track of my food and exercise has not been kind to me. I started back to school in August. It has been a huge adjustment, trying to adjust to having a full-time job and being a full-time student at the same time. I am on Christmas break now, so I thought it was time to slow down, assess the damage (weight) and get back on track. It feels good to be working toward my educational goals again, but with that being said, I also need to work on my physical health. I just recently completed a sleep study and I have mild sleep apnea, enough to make me feel tired and drag all day. I am learning about how weight gain affects sleep and how restless sleep affects weight. It is a horrible cycle, so that is even more motivation to get to a healthy weight.

Great self-reflection! Life changes can alter our habits and priorities to cause us to gain weight, and the best response to that is to evaluate the situation with kindness for ourselves and find ways to change the habits to make healthy eating easier for ourselves. It pays off to take good care of ourselves.

Chronostasis, thanks! I agree, we need to extend to ourselves the same kindness we extend to others.
