Well "life" has certainly held your feet to the fire lately! You keep showing it that you don't cave for piddly s**t! I've got some carpal too; have noticed more issues when I eat wheat and a lessening of symptoms when I don't. You might pay attention to what you've eaten if the symptoms vary from day to day, though it is hard to tell for sure that anything food-wise influences it because we're using our hands so much.

My wife says all the chaos this year is because it's the year of the monkey in the Chinese zodiac. I'm not convinced, but there's definitely been a lot of whack stuff going on.

@trackin64, my dr said the same thing.. that a lot of my symptoms (other issues not this one) are mainly food related.. Like my stummy (stomach/tummy) really hurts if I eat/drink dairy. This could be the same thing.. I need to stay away from wheat anyway.. my stummy doesnt like that either LOL :)

You've had so much happen lately, but i love how positive you always are! Just having that kind of attitude makes all the difference in the world. I'm interested in lifting, too... I'm going to check out that program you mentioned. I don't have a trainer at the gym, so for me, lifting is intimidating because I'm clueless! Keep us posted on how it goes :)

Look into physical therapy or chiropractic. Chiropractic worked for me.

About the symptoms you're having, may I suggest an anti-inflammatory diet? Not sure if it will help, but wanted to suggest it because of how much it has helped me. I can't eat wheat or much dairy either... I have major gastro issues. Inflammation was also causing me to have acne that would not go away, even with medication. Once I cut out the foods that caused it, my health and skin improved greatly. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it... You can google "foods that cause inflammation " and it'll pull up all kinds of good info. Hope you can get some relief from your carpal tunnel!

Lift like a man, look like a Goddess - it is the tag line for a book titled, "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler. Glad you have great plan in mind. remember, bodies are made in the kitchen, too.
|
HCB, I saw the book too... this one month plan really got my attention and I may buy the book as well ..

Cool - does it look like it can be done with just dumbbells? We have no barbells at my gym becuase it is part of class - but we have TRX straps and other bodyweight core stuff.

Paying attention to your inflammation will help greatly. I have found that my diet has tons to do with pain/arthritis/ all inflammation and I do everything better...move, lose weight, exercise, when I monitor what I eat. The Inflammation Syndrome was a helpful read. Love your great attitude :)

Carpal tunnel is awful. I had it really bad at one point and saw a chiropractor. I went in everyday for 3 months and they put these things around my wrist and the machine pulled them back and forth. I didn't want to have surgery. I wore those glove things to bed and used special ones for mousing. I also starting doing online exercises for carpal tunnel with weights. I am happy to say I haven't been troubled by it for over 5 years. Keep the faith.

Haven't read all the posts but dang I know that feeling, too much crap over the past 6 months. Life won't get you down or me either!! I find a Mediterranean type plan is similar to the Mayo clinic anti inflammatory one. Get rid of any processed stuff and eat lots of plant based foods, meat and animal as a flavor. Sure has helped me.

I have had bilateral carpal tunnel surgery; that said, I can truly emphatize with the pain you are experiencing. Do not fear the surgery, if it comes to that. Hang in there! You continue to inspire me!
