Just a Thought
My pants are getting too wide, saggy all the way around (not so much at the waist though).
Well, since the weight climbed up slowly but surely I have all kinds of sizes of pants, so no problem to switch to a smaller size. Here is the thing though:
Some of the smaller ones are still a little tight. Good feeling to wear a size smaller and the tightness is a constant reminder that I need to keep on going (especially in front of the fridge.)
The wider pants - it might not look so good, but darn, it feels good! Thing is, feeling so good, feeling all the space around me, has the tendency to weaken me (how can a positive feeling turn me into something negative?).
So, I guess I put the baggy ones away for good and live with the tighter ones, reminding myself of the smaller size they are (think positive!) until they are getting too big ;-)

I have a wide range of pants sizes, I'm currently still enjoying my 38"-40", but can easily fit into a 36". When they've gotten to be three sizes too big is when I've stopped wearing them. Check out the resale shops, that's where I've picked up most of mine, and I don't wear anything but Levi's.

Isn't it WONDERFUL when your clothes -- ANY clothes -- become baggy and too loose? Fan-freaking-tastic job, good on you!

Funny - I so understand. All my work pants were very loose and comfortable and I wanted to stay there - but I just got three new pairs on sale and smaller. They make me suck it in a bit, but that actually helps me stick with it so they become loose, too.

Beautifully written Jozette! It's a smart way to think about the big picture, which you have inspired me to sort out the big pants... Don't need em!

Josette, I just had this same experience. I decided I have to wear the smaller size to keep me honest. The baggy clothes leave too much room for over confidence. Here I'm feeling all sleek and slender, then see a picture of myself taken today, oh boy. Forty pounds is just a drop 💧in the bucket. Enjoy the smaller pants.
