Hermiones Mom's Journal, 23 January 2016

Decided to fight fire with fire today. Made myself a huge high protein breakfast, with a good load of fat thrown in, and some complex carbs. Now I'm off on errands and I'm take a Luna Bar with me. I'm thinking maybe I've not been eating enough protein and fat to keep me full, so I'm going to pay more attention to that in the next few days. Had a great walk with the dogs this a.m. and we'll go again this afternoon. So glad we are not in this year's blizzard belt! The cold is bad enough... but the cold and slogging through snow is too much for me. Need to check in with my sister in Bethesda to see how things went over night. Last I heard, they were saying they might get 40 inches!

A couple more notes -- I'm also thinking that I need to monitor how I use my carbs and my fats. The past couple of weeks I've used a lot of my daily allocation of carbs on things like bowls of cheerios, and I've wasted fat grams on things like salad dressing. I think that might have contributed to being hungry. Need to focus carbs on fruits and veggies and small portions of healthy grains; need to use up fat allocations in stick-to-the-ribs food, like cheese. Need to stop being so lazy and start making my own salad dressing again so I don't waste fat calories.

When I lived in Maryland as a child, I remember how much snow fell. We built forts under all the snow. LOL! I think your plan might help you keep from being so hungry. I like a good protein breakfast.
