Do not do Nutrisystem. I tried it last summer. They penalized me $105 too for not taking a second month. No getting out of that payment either. The meals are child-sized portions. Way, way too many candy bars - which just give you out-of-control carb cravings. My take - do NOT do this diet. And it is expensive. I still have some food left. You are better off doing Atkins, which eliminates carb cravings and then shuts down your appetite, but if you do Atkins, make sure you're getting enough potassium. I may start Atkins again in about a month. I am doing OK with weight loss - I am trying to lose about four or five pounds a month, which is a reasonable goal. Increase activity, limit carbs, limit calories, etc. and one will lose.

Hi, I am doing OK. I ate a big salad today, but it was mostly watery weight. I need to cut back on meals, less is more. If I am not hungry... don't eat necessarily, and no eating after 6 p.m. - and a light supper. Nutrisystem was a joke. It was candy bars - tons of them, which cause extreme hunger cravings. The meals were a joke - child portions. Yes, one would lose on the diet - and also probably feel near starvation too. Plus the candy bars would make you crave food and spike your blood sugar - a mess, don't ever waste your money on it. I still have some soups left. The portions are good for a small child.

Glenn, I always suspected as much! I've used to work for the Diet Center and that was one of their big selling points--that it was real food, not prepackaged things (this is no longer true, sadly.) And a few years ago I tried Weight Watchers, but yeah there were SO many sweet and salty snack foods that they really pushed, and I kept thinking, I'm trying to retrain my palate NOT to want junk like this! I eat salad for lunch most days and I usually make sure it has two kinds of protein--edamame or other beans, plus a portion of tuna or chicken. That protein makes all the difference in staying power. You sound as if you are totally on top of this! thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom :)

I agree Philmck. WW got me more hooked on sweets/carbs and the extra cost. Sad.
