Been gone again for a while. I had made a commitment to get back on track again a few weeks ago, but as always life seemed to get in the way. However, I am determined to get it right this time regardless! For a while I relapsed on both food and smoking. But I am smoke free for three weeks now and of course I have gained a bunch of weight. I feel like I am ready to move on without the food crutch, so here I am...again.

Glad to see you back, good news about the smoking. Now there's just the matter of processed foods lurking in the pantry...

Thanks guys...its been a ridiculously rough year for me. I can't seem to crawl out of this hole I've been in, but I just can't let it effect my weight and my health any longer. I have to soldier on even through the rough times.

I used to smoke 4 packs (of 25) a day, back in 1981, when I was 27 years old. I was in Nauplia, Greece at the time, trying to tackle the 999 steps up the mountain to see a castle there. I was about one third of the way up there and huffing and puffing and gasping, while seniors were passing me! That really blew me away, because I thought: "where am I gonna be when I'm a senior, if I'm like this now?" So I quit and never went back to smoking. I'm 61 years old now and although I don't know if I could go the full 999 steps, I bet I could get further than 333 steps without gasping for air the way I did then. Your body will reward you for knocking off the tubes. The weight, well, that's a challenge but when you overcome challenging things, your self-esteem and self-confidence will skyrocket to heights you'll love to live in! Keep up the good work Michaelsgirl515!!
