Had a great night out with a couple of glasses of Prosecco and watching all the prom dates all dressed up and out Saturday night! Indulged in a sweet dessert which I rarely do! Shared with my hubby.

@kay-It was fun and there was a wedding going on so there was a lot of dressed up people! I felt underdressed wearing jeans, boots and a sweater!

@Shirfleur- My hubby at the ice cream and I ate 1/2 of it. I saved the other 1/2 to eat before a workout for energy! It was good and took a lot of constraint to not eat it all!

Oh my gosh that looks so lovely😂. Can i ask, how long have you been essentially maintaining? And also, how long have you been hitting the gym in terms of overall years? I’m really struggling to self motivate on the days I don’t meet my trainer even tho i have easy access to all equipment at home and a husband who really wants me to do H.I.T. Workouts with him. Any tips? Ive been in the gym most of my life but for last 8 years and o boy could i use an extra push!

@Yearofhealth-I have been maintaining now for 2 years. I have been on many weight loss plans over my life time and could always lose the weight but I always gained it back. I hate cardio and it was over 4 years ago that my annual checkup I was at my heaviest and the doctor said he gave me 6 months to clean up my act basically or he was putting me on blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds and I was pre-diabetic. I went to this trainer and it is a semi-private gym so I only go in 3x a week. I am working out maybe with 4-8 other people and we are all doing our own workout that the trainer individually tells us to do. It lasts an hour and I don't think about anything except working hard and listening to him on what is next. I just signed my 4th year membership last November. There are days I don't want to go in but I go becasue for one I figured I am paying for this monthly and being an accountant that bothers me not to get my money's worth! LOL Also when I do get down I tell myself to remember my why's and also I tell my self - It is only 3 hours out of my life a week! He really has a focus on down time and our rest days. I still even after two years of maintenance turn in a food journal to him. It keeps me accountable and I guess that is what I need. My husband also goes to the gym so for us it is a friendly competition and we can also compare notes on what each other is doing at the gym. It is amazing that there are some aspects I am stronger than him so I like that. Also if we are struggling at the gym we can cheer each other on if we are trying to get that last lift. You said you husband wants you to do H.I.T. workouts with him- Is there maybe something you guys could collaborate on for a fun challenge? Maybe even doing something simple like just working together on a stability ball, medicine ball or planks? I hate curls on the stability ball but my husband loves them so we have a game at home to do them by alternating turns and then we just bought a 45# kettlebell to use for a little quick excercise in between the stability ball challenge. The struggle is real when it comes to food and workouts for sure!

YearofHealth, how wonderful that your husband wants to spend time working out with you. Nothing better for a marriage than shared experiences, don't let this opportunity slip by.

SHIRFLEUR, we used to work out together for years in the gym but I’ve just got a mental block about starting over. He’s very intimidating athletically. I call him my superhero. He does this one HIT workout with a girl we call the Irish demon because the workouts are really really hard even for someone like him he does another with a guy called funk Robert’s with kettlebells and another with some navy seal guy. He comes downstairs looking like he just got out of a pool😂. For me with my back and hips it’s super intimidating. I’m not a pansy it’s just I’m afraid of getting hurt. But he walks with me every day and then runs our boys (dogs not literal children) about 8 miles and comes back for me after my training sessions. I’m super lucky. We have a rare and beautiful relationship. How are you doing? I always love to see your posts💕
