Hey Buffy...that is one of the reasons I hate to cook..if it doesn't turn out..I feel I have wasted my time..and money...But we have to try new things or we may miss out on the most wonderful foods...hang in there...Stay warm...:O)

Bren - good point on the value of our time. But every once in a while I do find a killer recipe that was worth all the trouble.

I used to hate to cook. It's because I didn't know how, really. I am just now learning and found it's sort of fun to chop up things to go into a recipe that has already gotten great reviews. I have tried things out of cookbooks (low carb mainly) and they weren't all that good. I think we are trying to find those comfort foods we gave up ... like the breads and pasta. I like spiralizing zucchini for my noodles. Some people like the spaghetti squash. I never heard of cheese noodles. Can't wait to hear how that turned out. I have to admit ... the FMD let's us eat rice or quinoa pasta. The rice is pretty good. Never tried the quinoa. I think you can eat some rice on the new Atkins, right?

Mom - on the Atkins 40 I can eat anything as long as it is whole grain and does not contain sugar. BTW - I made some quinoa pasta thought it was decent. But DH discovered my casserole in the refrigerator and finished it up - so must be he thought it was OK too - LOL.

Cool beans!!!! .. or should I have said Cool Casserole! YAY! It's so good that they will eat what we eat, right? My hubby likes the rice pasta and he doesn't know that is what it is. He does NOT like whole wheat pasta.

I dislike cooking which is why I make batches of stuff and microwave it all week...

HCB - Great plan! Aren't microwaves wonderful?

I like to cook, but when trying out a new recipe, I usually make a small batch of whatever it is, according to the original recipe, to see if I like it. If not, I consider if it's worth revising before making it again, if at all. If it's one of my own inventions, it's the same process, and I've been luck to have had more successes than failures.

ShyGuy - Good advice on the small batches. I've cooked stuff I wouldn't have given to the dog - LOL.

I cook a ton but I usually don't venture too far out of my comfort zone. Thats a great idea about small batches. I am curious about cheese noodles, anything with cheese in the title gets wolfed down by my boys.
let us know how they are!

Nicholaix - I made the noodles Sunday but got cramped for time last night and didn't get them cooked. But I will tonight - and I promise I will let you know.
