TODAY WAS MY FIRST WORKOUT at the gym. We went first thing in the morning. I am surprised that I maintained the strength that I had like 5 or 6 yrs ago. I worked legs and did little cardio. But not nearly enough cardio that I wanted. I sadly felt bored to death on the Elliptical and quit ten minutes in. I needed ten more minutes. I will try harder tomorrow.
My husband wants to go again tomorrow- so I go (kicking an screaming) and I will do arms (resistance training) and cardio again. I went fasted today and I will go fasted tomorrow. But tomorrow is my Fasting day, so I have 500 calories that I can have (high fat), wonder how I will get in the proper protein. Going to the gym makes the scale go up so I am not looking forward to seeing those minor gains. :( It was a great day. For dinner I had pizza toppings w/ lots of coconut oil. YUM! Looking forward to my next feed day.

Elliptical simply may not be for you. Try the bike. Try the rowing machine. The only thing that matters is heart rate, not 'trendy'. :)

You will quickly develop your cardio capacity! :) Don't worry! If you can listen to music while you train, that's a huge help in removing the "boring" element :) You really need to get proteins in because it is physically not possible to build/repair muscle without protein :P Even protein powder, if it has to come to that. It's not ideal but it's better than no proteins at all :P

protein shakes, I mean. Of course that, some foods have an almost identical protein-to-calorie ratio than protein shakes. I think shrimp is one of them.

It's always better to go for real food :)

Look up Tabata Protocol (it is a high intensity interval training program) - I do that on the bike three days a week before the strength training as my warm up. It has really increased my stamina and my resting heart rate. I don't think doing a lot of boring cardio is as beneficial as a lot of people seem to think (and neither does a couple of the personal trainers I''ve talked with). Just a suggestion.
You did great today just getting into the gym, that's the hardest part!
