Sorry, Maddie. I don't eat chocolate cake often. That's why I shared this piece with my hudband. It wasn't a huge slice...pic is a close up.

Celtic Phoenix— I bake a lot and have learned to successfully substitute SWERVE for the sugar in many baked goods. I am not diabetic but so very many of my friends have diabesity that when I make treats I try to mitigate the damage. It has worked so successfully in many of my recipes (including a chocolate zucchini cake) that the substitution is now the standard recipe. Even with that being said, you cannot then eat twice as much. It is still all about portion control and moderation.

A couple of points....
I have hit my goal & I'm in maintenance. I did eat desserts while losing but sparingly.
This cake was a complementary slice from a lunch out on Thurs. It has been in the fridge til I thought I could "afford" the calories.
I shared to cut those calories in half.
My weight did NOT go up overnight after eating this 😊

for me nothing is really off limits except processed food that contain artificial ingredients or msg--asthma and migraine trigger. If I indulge I simply adjust calories for a few days to compensate. I average calories over a week. Maddie, something being off limits depends on what your individual plan is, sometimes you will see foods on here that do not fit your plan.
