I haven't counted points all week and have been trying to follow the Golden Rules more consciously: 1. Eat when you are hungry 2. Eat what you want (I am going mainly healthy here) 3. Eat consciously 4. Stop when you are full, or think you might be full
The reason being is I am really trying to train myself naturally to eat less and focus on healthy foods. This continues to be a struggle for me b/c I really do not overeat, but to lose any weight I have to do with less or at least eat the foods that will help me to lose.
I did not make it to my goal of 139 by the end of the month yet again. This has been my goal since June and I keep going in this cycle of up a few poundds, down a few lbs. It is frustrating and makes me feel like a failure in this area. I know I am being hard on myself as I am not really considered overweight, but I really could use to lose 5-10 more lbs to look and feel my best. Of course I could go lower, but I will never be the skin and bones type! This point has been so difficult to reach.
I don't want to count points and have to struggle with up and down all the time. That is why I am trying to do this with moderation and healthy foods to see if I can do it on my own. I have been struggling with cravings for snacks too. Food is a gift to be enjoyed, not an enemy, so I don't want to turn it into that. I just want to be free of the struggle with it and find a way to get rid of these 5 lbs to get me to my goal and be able to stay there. I guess the other thing I need to remember is I can do what I need to do to burn off the extra pounds I have and then when I reach my goal, it's maintenance, not burning extra and maintenance.
I tried on a pair of pants I had bought this summer and they still fit but were tighter than before. That made me feel defeated too. I am a strong, positive leader for so many other areas in my life but am struggling with this one! Ok, deep breath, chin up and I am making good choices today- giving my body healthy foods it needs, enjoying pizza tonight in moderation and will head out for a walk today. I will get back to my gym routine next week again and am looking forward to that! I feel a loss coming on and I think I will reach my goal soon!
Have a healthy weekend, everyone. Thanks for listening.
