AmberGry33's Journal, 08 July 2019

I’ve made it to the end of the day and it’s been a long one.. fasted till 330 pm after work, ate in total 1200 calories. I need to get used to doing this again after throwing in the towel over the holiday and long weekend. I’ve been sort of an emotional rollercoaster today, not sure if it’s the fasting or the stress of having a child with a chronic illness. Or it could be the fact that my significant other doesn’t believe in making the same healthy lifestyle changes as me. Oh well, I suppose I’m on this journey on my own and I’m the only one to keep myself in check. I want to be a good example to my 2 daughters and be able to take care of my daughter with health issues. She didn’t ask for it, just bad genes. By the way type 1 diabetes and celiac suck. Especially together. And no my daughter did not get diabetes from poor life choices. It’s genetic, my mother was diagnosed type 1 diabetic at the ripe age of 4 and did nothing to deserve it. My aunt who is my mothers sister was diagnosed at age6. So yeah, bad genes 🧬

My sister and niece are both T1, but dealing with celiac on top of that? Ouch! Focus on yourself, and kiddos, the significant other needs to walk their own path. You can do that, be the role model you want to be!
