Happy New Year FS friends. I'm not doing resolutions, except trying to do better on staying in touch with my friends. Made seafood paella last night, nibbling on it this afternoon. Going to veg up the leftovers with cauliflower rice and peppers, etc. to make it less calorie dense. The flavors are awesome today. Also letting the two pieces of bread get stale to make some croutons.

Just got done with an urban canyon hike. I love how the City just disappears once you get off the street and into the canyons. No one living in it at the moment either which is always a bonus. We have a really cold Santa Ana event going on, so not sure I'm up to taking a dip. Getting in is fine, but you gotta get out at some point.

Hit my December walking mileage goal of 106 miles and actually beat it by getting in 108. It's finding the time. Really hard with the short days and work being crazy. My doc says I'm supposed to replace my shoes every hundred miles. Ugh, that's more than I care to spend on shoes. Maybe new liners every other month, good ones. Don't want to screw up my feet again.

Update: I did it. Went and jumped into the pool at around 8 and knocked out a 30 minute session. Happy New Year!
