Ok day 2 down and came in under 17gm's of carbs, some not so pleasant side effects had a headache and brain fog most of the day yesterday and despite drinking about 5 litres of water yesterday, I still have dry mouth, oh well I'm confident these things will pass:) Still a bit high on my proteins trying to figure out how to get more fat into my diet - who would have thought it.

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

After looking at your Diet Calendar, I think you could see larger results if you cut your protein in half... that would bring your macronutrients closer in ratio to mine. Just advice.

HAng in there, the issues you're describing will taper off in a weeks or so. Keto "flu" is what some call it. As for more fat, I've found that fat bombs help me a LOT when I want a snack. However, when you're full, or not hungry, don't eat. Don't force foods into yourself to satisfy the calculators. You've got this, I'm certain of it.

Wow this is impressive how you are able to keep your carb's so low. What is your secret and what foods do you mainly eat to keep your carbs super low and lose 4 lbs a week. I need to do whatever you are doing. I've allowed myself 130grams of carbs per day but that may be way too much. Any input you can provide would be appreciated thank you.

I've had some pretty low carb days (3-5g/day, once only 0.13g/day). Some MCT Oil &/or Coconut Oil seem to help a bit with mental & physical energy.

Danger of dry mouth is the increased susceptibility to caries. I use xylimelts overnight (saliva stimulator lozenges adhere to back molars), and sometimes sip water with a bit of baking soda to offset increased mouth acidity. -- I don't have advice on protein amounts. 184 is right; protein overload yesterday at lunch put me back into crash-must-eat-now state in late afternoon. I'm doing keto to attain even energy and mental clarity, so that was a fail. Some people do fine with unlimited protein.

I greatly appreciate all the feedback, From371 - thanks for the advise, I will try and focus on bringing my protein down probably in a week or two I'm just focussed right now on cutting out the carbs, one battle at a time:) Red Apple - I'm so just a newbee at this, all I can say is I don't eat any sugar, fruits, bread of any kind... mostly just meat, cheese, eggs, some veggies on a very limited basis, baby spinach, peppers, cucumber, asparagus - I found the only way to stay in or around 20gm is to plan all your food at least the day before I've been doing it by the week, shopping and prepping all my meals and snacks, so I'm not tempted to eat outside of my meal plan. just on my 3rd day, but I'm already eating less then when I started 3 days ago I'm just not that hungry. Will look at all your wonderful suggestions thanks for taking the time to help be out:)

Try some broth for headache or salt in your water❤️

Oh gosh yes bone broth. Add salt if it's low salt. I add ghee when I can handle that. -- 184 is banging drums out of his usual order here, I fear; usually he starts with "log everything, it makes pink fairies sing magical melodies as they twirl through crystal skies!" (paraphrasing mine) then once that phase of his cult indoctrination is ingrained ;-) , he starts in on reducing protein. I'm only 9 weeks in, probably tried to cut protein too abruptly. This is a huge learning curve.

Awesome thank you so much for the tips. I'll give these a try especially on limiting more of my sugar intake and taking on more veggies than fruits. Thank you Tbaygirl :)

Cream cheese is my secret weapon. I have found 100 ways to eat it that I actually like. I'm not advocating a fat fast here, because its not right for everyone, but if you search google or pinterest for "fat fast recipes", "fat bomb recipes" or "keto cream cheese recipes", you will find some really good ideas for a high fat meal or snack. My favorite is mashing 1/2 block of cream cheese with about 20 pickled jalapeno slices and rolling the mixture up in bacon. Its a non-fried jalapeno popper without having to cut up and de-seed whole jalapenos. I also like cutting cream cheese in to cubes and rolling it in sugar free strawberry jello mix. It satisfies my sweet tooth without the carbs.
