Magdalena003's Journal, 14 May 2017

It was a rough week with lots of travel. I knew that I was going to be gone M-W and ran out of time to pack my food before I left. So I ate what was available to me at no charge. But I was careful about portion control (eyeballed) and cut carbs where I wanted to. For example, I had a cheesesteak and ditched the bun, but I also had a meatball stromboli and one of my dinners included a baked potato and a side of penne pasta with chicken nuggets. I chose to only add half the potato to my plate, less than half a serving of pasta and 4 nuggets, and I cut a brownie in half and shared it with my son. This, of course, made my stomach feel incredibly heavy, but I was grateful for the no cost nourishment. Th-Sat was back home and and back to LC, but I'm also on a new medication that has a side effect of appetite suppression. I'm going to have to start tracking again to ensure that I'm eating enough calories as I've only been able to handle one meal daily and I have to split it into 2 eating sessions. I believe the combination of portion control, return to LC (water weight), and appetite suppression contributed to this week's loss.

It was disappointing to return home to wilted lettuce, soft cucumbers, bad peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. But none of it will go to waste as my chickens will LOVE to eat it.

In other news, my abdominal gap has gone from a 3 finger gap to a 1 finger gap. A good friend of mine (physical trainer) said that with this small of a gap, I can return to regular exercise. I'm to continue to do gentle core exercises in addition to the work outs to help close it further. She recommended 3x a week as well as 12 minutes of light cardio (brisk walking) on the other 4 days. She informs me that it could take 6 months to a year, but I've no problem with that as I've been rocking this mom pouch for nearly 6 years. With the 50lb weight loss (now 52) I can't find a pair of jeans to fit properly. This is due to the mom pouch, the waist needs to be bigger to accommodate that bulge which means they are too big in the hindquarters. So that is my next goal and I hope to gain a bit of weight as I build muscle as well.
126.0 lb Lost so far: 38.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
