Ideal Weight's Journal, 04 February 2017

Little bit of gain, but I'm not too upset. I know I didn't do very well this last week. Right now I'm just tracking calories, but I would love some ideas, from you LCHF folks, in what you use to curb the sweets cravings. :( I really add a lot of carbs and calories each day satisfying my sugar cravings. Any ideas would be SO appreciated.

Sugar free jello with sugar free whipped cream works for me. Or coffee flavored with sugar free flavorings.

I mix heavy whipping cream and vanilla into whipped cream. It feels like I'm cheating and the high fat kicks your body into burn mode. And it's freaking delicious! :-)

That sugar craving (addiction) is something that will become quieter over time as you eat less and less of it. You'll eventually get to the point that when you over-indulge in sugar and sweets that you'll become ill when you eat them. It's a crazy thing bit it happens. I personally would not try and fool myself with non-calorie sweeteners, it'll keep those desires around. Think of an alcoholic that tries drinking non-alcoholic beer. The taste it there and that triggers a lot of our expectations of what is to come next. Sugar highs or an alcohol buzz. You might be able to handle the 'sugar free' foods; I find it easier to just do without. My body had adjusted and craves less harmful things like fats. Maybe try to make some Fat Bombs and see if that can help redirect your sweet/candy sensation? I just added my Mio Fat Bomb recipe here: https://goo.gl/yjl4Rp I had to use a URL shortener, FS will chop off the longer URLs. It works out to less then 100 calories per 'treat' and hits the spot when I want a treat.
