3 weeks down and the weight loss is steady. Lots of weight left to lose so I'm staying on induction. Discovered this week that I have hypothyroidism so I'm on medication for that as of Thursday. Hoping it helps to kick the metabolism into gear.

Staying on induction doesn't make you loose faster. It just increases the likelyhood of failing overall. Once you have kicked the cravings, you should move up to OWL. Last year I lost 50#s in 6 months, then failed the diet. This year I lost 50#s in 4 months by moving on to OWL. I'm doing much better this year, and I'm learning how to eat for the rest of my life.

Dr. Atkins book says it does. Granted, once I get within 30 pounds or so of goal I'll do OWL so that I ease into premaintenance and lifetime maintenance, but assuming I'm good with the under 20 gram intake (and since I apparently have a high metabolic resistance), I'll be more confident in my weight loss if I can continue to post 2 pound #s...which will keep me motivated to stay with it. If I were to move to OWL and have the #s decrease before I can afford to, it might bum me out to the point that I'd be willing to give up.
Thanks for the advise though.
