🥲🥰🌹 I was able to attend a potluck bday party on the beach and didn't sabatoge myself!!! I brought meatball sliders (and ate ONE before we left so I wouldn't feel deprived). Then had a chicken leg off the grill. I don't normally drink alcohol, but had a couple last night. Then had a hard boiled egg, fermented veggies, another meatball (just by itself not a slider) and some fruit punch flavored protein powder when I got home. I didn't hit my macros, but I stayed within my calories so I'm considering it a SUCCESS!! *And I put on another .7 pound of muscle over the past week!! 💪 I'm walking more, doing squats and stretching 🤩 I ran into an old acquaintance last night that straight up didn't recognize me and introduced herself wanting to be friends 🤣 It's true I did gain some weight and lose muscle with 2 life changing illnesses, but most of the 80 pounds I put on was due to crippling depression. Yes, I was in therapy. Yes, I was on meds. No, nothing helped. Down at the bottom of that hole was dark, distant and isolating. I stopped being social. The bigger I got the more shame I felt, and the less I interacted with people. Grocery shopping and cooking were not happening. I'd mostly eat what I could get delivered or thru a drive thru -- and I showed. Tough to even write this out and share it on FS. My 10 year journey towards reclaiming my health and physical mobility is the hardest thing I've even done. I lost most of my 40s to illness and clinical depression. I don't want to ever ever ever repeat that. I fight hard everyday to protect my mental health. 💯 I'm about 12 pounds away from my goal, but I can start shifting into more of a maintenance lifestyle. Focusing more on physical activity and building muscle, so I can eat more 🤣😛

Sharing our vulnerable selves can be excruciatingly painful. Shame holds us in places for too long. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Proud of you! You were determined to get out the depression and sabotaging yourself to where it made you sick and you did it!! That takes strength, courage and discipline!! I’m in maintenance now and can eat more and it’s a great feeling. I’m WAY more in control of my eating habits and it sounds like you are too. That feels good. You can do this! 12 pounds is VERY achievable. I really enjoy the recipes you share. :)
