I can't speak for everyone only me. At first it was just a decision to commit to a better me. Making small changes then once I conquered those I began making other changes. Then my motivation came when I noticed the disirable changes in my body. But discipline will always outweigh motivation. Just start small. And don't get too hard on yourself if you mess up it's the overall picture. Also for the hunger I used super low density foods high volume with either low or just better macro ratios. Now I actually enjoy and crave things that are 2 or even 4 to 1 on protein to carbs/fat. Took a while.
