I am frustrated at how limited I feel by the amount of food I can consume. For a moment I felt some envy of people who don't struggle with saying no to food, but just as different people like different colors, most of us have different things that we have trouble saying no to. In the moment I lament how distant it seems to achieve a healthy weight. How seemingly unbearably long it could take to start feeling less like a balloon animal. But listen to me seeking a reward in this! It is very rewarding to see pounds come off. Success can often breed more success. But when people reach their goals, the only thing to look forward to is living with all of that restriction for the rest of your life, with no further associated reward except for the maintenance of what you've gained, including the essentially invisible reduction of health risk. With this in mind I wonder if it is prudent to place less of my emphasis on my weight & more of it on the process.
