anejay's Journal, 21 March 2021

So, when I started this a month ago and put in my goal, Fat Secret asked me if I wanted to lose 25 lbs by May or August. It was a choice between 1200 calories per day or 1600. 1200 didn't seem reasonable to start so it's been the 1600. Sometimes I'm under by 100-200 in a day, sometimes right on. I've lost 3 lbs in a month, maybe 4. My scale is pretty inadequate. I'm satisfied with these results and now am focusing on increasing my exercise per week.
Some of my stress is easing in our family business. My daughter's pregnancy has stabilized a bit and she's not in immediate danger of a premature birth at 27 weeks. This is still a week to week thing, but a little better every week the boys stay inside.
I'm enjoying everyone's pics, comments and the over all positivity here. Keep up the good work all.

I think the 1600 was the right choice. a lot of ppl on here seem to push a 1200 cal diet but I don't think it's sustainable and will leave you mad when you go over. :/ I always set mine a bit too high and try to come in under a bit but let myself go all the way there sometimes. You're doing great! keep it up. :)

Yup, slow and easy(-er) all the way, you have better chances to keep the extra pounds away if you lose them slow and sustainably... When I needed to lose weight before I did 1700-1800 and it worked great, albeit slow... I’m doing 2000 this time, because I’m breastfeeding and I don’t want to affect my supply. By the way, all the best wishes in the world for your daughter! My baby came at 36 weeks, it was tough, but oh so rewarding!
