Feeling very frustrated this morning. My scales are giving me all sorts of figures, fluctuating by around a stone depending on where I set them down! I now have no idea how accurate any of my recent weigh ins have been as I’ve been quite suspicious of their capabilities for a while now. I find this so disappointing as I’m a data/numbers person (accountant by day) and like having a quantitive measure. I have been measuring my tummy, hips etc too but think it will take longer to see improvement here and I’m not sure how accurate my measuring is. Any suggestions for scales accuracy?

if you can leave it in one place undisturbed ,it will measure the +/- even if you don't trust the actual figure

That’s a good idea, I’ll give that a go. Thank you!

if it's a digital set does it need new batteries. i find my scales go a bit wrong when the battery is low.

I’ve only just replaced the battery so think it’s the scales themselves unfortunately. Good to know the battery trick for the future though 👍🏻

Yeah scales annoy me too lol the best way to get an accurate weigh in is with your GP or pharmacies.

I invested in digital scales and I always keep my scales in the same place for consistent results. Also if you have digital scales some have a calibration button. Check to see if yours has it. It may just need to recalibrate itself.

I'd reccommend keeping the scale on a solid surface insted of carper, if you haven't already been doing that

Thanks for all the suggestions! They are digital and always on a hard surface but hadn’t thought of recalibration, will give that a go! Thanks again!
