80 lbs lost. I think I’m done with cutting for now. It’s getting more and more difficult and I’ve done it for a year, so will give it a break. My primary goal was a moving target anyways, but I would call it a success. I am going to increase calories now and try and gain some lean muscle mass and hopefully continue to lose some fat at the same time. Progress will be slower this time around, but we’ll see how it goes. Secondary goal was always to get stronger but not necessarily bigger. I am perfectly happy with staying at 160-165 lbs but have well defined body and medium to low body fat %.
Progress update in Feb 2020.

Adding muscle will help with the fat burn. I think you’ll see a big difference in body composition if you add weights - it’s a much slower process (in my experience) so keep progress photos because your weight won’t be changing. Excited to see your progress 💪

Take your time. We are in the same situation, I went from 240 to 160 in 1 year and then started to increase my calories slowly. Went from 1700 to now 2600ish and feeling great. 2 months and weight is still within range of 160, daily fluctuations can be as much as 6 lbs so remember not to stress over the small changes. Big picture. Good luck.

Thanks @ the_cutting_machine. It’s only been a little over a week now with higher calories and heavy weightlifting. But so far so good. Will see how it goes. I am still limiting carbs and having lots of protein instead.
