I realize that food does not need to be the reward. I have great friends who enjoy a good High Cal meal occasionally and I do feel left out when they are eating foods I would love to eat but can't. They are often apologetic but I still feel- on the inside- like a wet noodle and a bit of a spoiler. I ended up drinking more wine instead of pasta with a yummy creamy sauce- but that is really not the answer. I remember seeing people bring their own food at a restaurant and thinking that was weird. But I do not want to miss socializing. I need to get over it and bring those acceptable treats from home.
