I was feeling tired and unfocused, yesterday, until I read some blogs about low carb or keto flu and ate some coconut oil with sea salt. then i felt more normal, though i still had a cold. i knew i was also stressing about coming up with $650 to pay for new tires for my car (tires are so old they won't hold air for more than a few days so have to be replaced). i decided to use an advance against royalties that i'd just received to pay for the tires. then i felt better, having made the decision. then i went to whole foods and spent a lot of money on mct oil, ca/mg supplements (to prevent cramping), etc. broke down and bought a bottle of sake, too, even if i knew it did have a lot of carbs in it. today, i tried the mct oil in my coffee. i hope it sharpens up my mind.

end of the day. it's almost 18:30. i did okay at work from 0500 until 1030 when the tree guys, the arborists, really got to work with chainsaws and a truck that ground up wood into chips for hauling away. i'd spent over an hour on skype with the ceo of a company i work with, as the crashing limbs and falling trees outside my home office got louder and louder. between 1030 and 1100 i pulled on some clothes and escaped to 365 by new seasons to scarf down some brunch and work in relative peace, but the brunch i chose was 22 oz of chicken tikka masala, and it's still sitting in my belly. never mind that i skipped all my supplements. 365 by new seasons did not help. the food was too heavy. no problem with their food bar. the problem was with me. if i am going to eat hflc, then i don't need pounds of food to choke down. at least for breakfast or brunch, i need just a few bites. dinner is when i need to eat a lot. but today i ate 22 oz for lunch and have been paying for it since.

i am not giving up. i will persevere with hflc. every day brings its own challenges. victory comes from adapting, from dealing with challenges. I DO NOT GIVE UP.
