Although i`m doing well this week, my anxiety seems to be out of control. I`m not sure why. It really hasn`t bothered me in a long time. Do any of you have anxiety? if so, how do you deal with it?

Have you talked to your doctor about it? I have episodes .. and she has given me an Rx for a common anxiety med .. I take one when I need to, which is not often (maybe 2 a month). I don't like to have to do that .. but sometimes I need to.

Jessica - I was on anti-anxiety/anti-depression/insomnia meds for years (zoloft and ambien for daily use and lorazepam for the bad episodes) but because of the horrible side effects and increasing dosages as they lost their effectiveness for me, I started researching natural options and my doctor worked with me to get me off of them. Now I take L-Theanine with Melatonin at night and 5-HTP a B12 in the morning. I started all of these under the supervision of my doctor and I would advise that you discuss supplements with your doctor before you start any... if you are currently on any SSRIs do not take 5-HTP as there can be problems with interactions. For me, these have been a lifesaver. I had horrible side effects from the Rx meds, and none at all from these supplements. I spend more money (insurance doesn't cover supplements and I buy very high quality for the best results) but every penny I spend is worth it. The natural calm and general well being I experience from these supplements is a world away from the foggy, sedated way I felt on the Rx drugs. If your doctor does not support the use of supplements (many don't) I would encourage you to search in your area for a Doctor of Holistic, Natuopathic, or Osteopathic medicine. I would suggest that you be sure to verify their credentials, because many charlatans will claim to be a "Natuopath" or "Osteopath" but have no training whatsoever. For me, it was important that my doctor be a 'real' doctor with an MD or a DO, because I need a physician who is familiar with and can address my entire medical profile and treat with traditional medicine where appropriate. Unfortunately my doctor relocated and I'm struggling to find a new one who is willing to be open to more natural solutions... so I'm well aware of the challenge. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

i also suffer from anxiety. its very hard once u see a therapist. i couldnt find one to see me without meds. ive gained weight but control most on wellbutrin, clonopin. i have ptsd from a work situation. im now in a more positive situation. doing yoga and cleaning the studio weekends to get a good discount. im trying hot yoga..its both a challenge and a relief. i stopped walking and its knee problems and anxiety. i dont have all the answers. any good therapist might tell u its called walking the cat..thats going back to the start of why and when the panick attacks started. more important is to turn off the fight or flight switch in our brain. the brain cant think of 2 things at once. distraction work for me. im also taking b12, d3 for my thyroid disorder...that can affect mood. fish oil, nettle, for an anti inflammatory...but some herbs u can not take before any surgery. getting out more does help so try not to isolate yourself. is work stressful or home......these are all good questions. a little stress is healthy too much puts stress on the cortisols and we gain and the brain changes. i wish u much health and good luck on your journey.YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS.Pm me if u have ?s or just need to vent.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the feedback. I will be looking into seeing a Naturopath because my family doctor just wants to push medication. And with the meds i cant do my job so its very difficult. I`ll be doing some research on what you guys suggested. Thanks again :)

I was feeling similar recently. I used cron-o-meter to note all my food for few days and apparently I was lacking few vitamins and minerals and that caused fatigue and effected mental health. Maybe you should give it a go as well.

They say deep breathing through out the day like 5 breaths through your nose and slowly exhale out the mouth ..it helps the brain create relaxation pathways .i try to do that more like when I drive or take a shower I always forget but I'm trying 👍Since I don't eat sugar any more I feel like everything is better 🤗

My anxiety is mild so not sure this will work for everyone but L-theanine is great! And I’ve recently been taking Relora Plex (Douglas laboratories has a bottle on amazon for $35/60 pills) which has the added benefit of helping with weight loss because it helps with cortisol levels. Might be worth a try??
