Finished the holiday weekend with a bang! My work hosted a Virtual Turkey Trot 5K to be completed any time during the weekend. Since I got home after dark I headed to my apartment gym to do mine on the treadmill expecting to have the place to myself. I've never really been one to care about what others think but when I got there and saw someone on the other machine my gut reaction was to go back home. Instead I went in and hopped on. By the time I was finished 65 minutes later, 3 other buff guys had packed into the space with me, each one smiling and waving as they entered. I even got up the courage to jog my last minute!

This was an eye opening experience, showing me just how out of shape I've gotten. When I used to do Couch to 5K outdoors 3 years ago I kept a 16-17 minute pace. The difference this time - no numbness in my leg. I'm still not ready to make exercise a regular part of my plan just yet but I'm glad I pushed through this!

Congrats. Im that way too when other people are at the gym. Probably why I stopped going coupled with no time. Kudos to you though. I'm thinking of starting the Couch to 5k program because I can do that at home with my kids.
