HealthyMeGoal's Journal, 16 October 2016

I had a smaller portion of the Tikka Masala last night and I skipped the naan bread. It was really tasty, but I noticed about 2 hours after eating I felt like I wanted to eat again. I resisted by drinking a lot of water while my hubby had a second piece of naan. I waited until I'd decided (earlier in the day, trying to keep to a schedule) to give myself my pre-approved snack to have anything and, by then, he was on his third piece of naan. Thankfully, there aren't any leftovers as he just made enough for one meal, all I have to do today is ignore the bread.

Meals are planned out and the hubby said he's "bored", and I a too a little, today I'm going to look up some recipes and see if I can't come up with some awesome dishes for the week. It's a challenge as both the hubby and I have different "picky foods" we won't eat. Scary to see how much I obsess over food.

Not supposed to weigh in until Thursday, but I stepped on today anyway and, if that number is the same by Thursday, I'm going to be a happy camper. I know most of it is probably water weight, but my knees don't know the difference. Weight is weight.

I don't think you are obsessing over food; you being more mindful about what you should be eating and planning ahead. When you aren't mindful and/or planning ahead....well, we know what may happen. You are right; your knees won't know if it's water or not. They'll know that they are supporting less weight and thank you. There are loads of recipes you can find that fit your WOE. Got to keep things creative and interesting or otherwise you will get bored. Not to say you should throw out the tried and true recipes, but it's nice to have something different.

Good for you for resisting the bread. Think what you would have eaten if you weren't on your plan. Getting bored so early into your plan is troublesome. I'll pray that you can take the time to find a woe that inspires you on a daily basis. I eat the same breakfast and lunch everyday. I mix up my dinner meals. Believe me, scrambled eggs for eight years could be boring. I'm still jumping out of bed for my scrambled eggs. Maybe not jumping, but you get the idea. Happy Sunday. Go with God.

Normally my husband and I eat a wide range of food - one night we have an Indian dish, the next is Mexican, then Thai, etc. So we're feeling a little limited right now as rice, bread, and noodles (at least for me) aren't an option. We change it up a lot. We've been having a lot of turkey bacon and scrambled eggs and the like. I'm going to go ahead and make meatloaf with mashed cauliflower today and see how that goes. Also, may give low carb wraps a try, still nervous about their carb count but I really miss our fajitas.
