Diea's Journal, 14 December 2015

I went from 146 in January to my current weight of 163. I gained almost 20 pounds in one year. That's wild. It's because of a lot reasons. Mostly it's because I have crazy stress levels and no time since I am doing two master degree programs at the same time. I cannot explain how time-consuming this is. I mean, I had to negotiate taking a shower many times. I stopped cooking a long time ago. I made sure to work out 1-3 times a week, but I don't know how much that matters since I drink a lot of sugar-ladden starbucks coffee.

So I finished the semester on Friday and I've made sure to really up my workouts. I'm aiming for 2-3 work outs a day. I'm still trying to get myself to start eating right. I know that's huge. I've been healthy and I know how to lose weight and eat right. I just need to get myself to do it. I know I'm getting close to that. I can't expect myself to transform over night after months of practicing unhealthy eating habits. I know that loving yourself is a big part of being healthy, so I don't want to be negative or pressure myself.

I don't know why I'm writing this. I guess I just need to. I think I need to read my thoughts and figure myself out.

Patience is definitely virtue.

I have a mantra that I practice. It helps me be positive and tell my body affirmations. It's:

"I accept myself unconditionally right now."

It's so easy to get down on yourself for the 20 pounds or so that you have gained don't forget you still have a overall loss so it's just a matter of getting back on a program where you're eating healthy
