HafPaf's Journal, 03 November 2015

I weighed myself this morning.

Which was a little silly considering my weigh-in day is only Thursday.
But I was just curious.
I'm pretty much still in the same "zone" of 55kgs.
But I hope to lose maybe 600g by Thursday.

Also, I'm trying to keep my diet clean today.
But I think I've already failed on that part.

I mean nuts and avos are good fats, but fats are quite high in calories and now I've basically used up my RDI.

ACTUALLY, I've gone over already. SIGH. It's only 9:48am and I can't eat for the rest of the day now :(

So my RDI changed.
I recalculated it to be 1500!
Which means to lose weight I need to cut 500cals!
which means I can only eat 1000 cals!
Which in my mind is SO little considering 1 avo is 300 calories!
So I can only eat 3 avo's a day! :(

SAD FACE!

My favourite food items to eat are:
avocados (literally with a spoon)
raw nuts (no peanuts or macadamia - ew)
scrambled eggs with spinach
and my fav dessert >> espresso, coconut flour , dark chocolate microwave cake (sounds gross - but it is delicious)

Oh WAIT.

I just remembered that tomorrow is another Fasting Day.
urhhhhhhhhghghghghghghgh..

So I can basically only eat on Thursday now.
Hhmmmm... I might reconsider fasting day Wednesday tomorrow.
Although I have been so diligent.

NO,HAFPAF, you CAN and you WILL fast tomorrow!
Will you DIE if you don't eat?? NOOOOOO

Okay.
Can't wait for breakfast on Thursday morning.
lolololololololololololol.
sigh.

HafPaf relax :) You can eat over your RDI and you might still see a loss on Thursday. The trick is not to overdo your carbs today. By keeping Tuesdays strict, you allow yourself to eat whatever on Thursday and weekends. Another trick is to pre-plan what your going to eat for the day and stick to that so you can choose high volume low calorie food that will fill u up. You can opt for a 1500 calorie day everyday to lose but with yesterday's fast day you are effectively getting a 750 average calorie day over this last 2 days so you can take it up to 200% of RDI and there is a possibility that you wont gain weight. Remember, your RDI is calculated without taking fast days into the equation. Plan next week not to have avo and nuts on your Tuesday. Cabbage is only 32 Calories per cup ;) Butternut is only 80 Calories per cup ;) Use these as fillers in your meals for quantity but watch the carb count :)

You need a deficit of 1000 calories a day so 7000 calories a week to loose 1 kg it is difficult but achievable if you exercise. Your body burn calories for doing nothing as well. Good luck

@Yolanda Henning > > Seriously???? I run 5kms mostly everyday so I feel I already knock enough calories off with exercise - but I don't count those calories burnt though. But a deficit of 1000cals is ridiculous - I rate it's all relative and what your RDI is. If I cut 1000 cals from my rdi I'd only be able to consume 500cals - which is ( in my mind) basically nothing

Hafpaf you must take into account how much body fat you have to lose. Your weightcould remain exactly as it is or even go higher but you could be getting slimmer. Weight is a combination of fat, water, muscle, bone, organs and all relative to your built. height, etc. Don't beat yourself up about it. The scale is like a politician! It will lie and mislead you!

LOL I agree with you but that is what studies all around the world stat you should do if you want to loose 1kg a week. I also exercise and struggle to get to a 1000 calorie deficit a day. If you have more kg to loose it will be easier to have such a big deficit that is the reason why people who have more to loose loose quicker than people that does not have a lot to loose. Good luck losing weight is always a ongoing battle.
