Skparker's Journal, 09 October 2015

I'm finally seeing a little bit of progress as I stay the course with my new way of eating (although it's challenging!). I hope I can stick with it this weekend.

Two updates:
1) I've been using the Desk Cycle pretty faithfully while sitting at my desk and it feels pretty good! I've been made fun of a few times (it's that weird new thing in the office that people notice) but one coworker took a picture, sent it to his wife, and now she wants one too! It's relaxing, quiet, and comfortable. At the very least, it's gentle movement and I feel it working a little bit on my legs.

2) Tomorrow I get to adopt a dog! I'm below 230 just in time (re. my goals!). I'm hoping he'll encourage me to walk a ton more and be more active in general, while providing companionship and comfort. I miss having a dog so much.

Have a great weekend!

My dog is responsible for at least HALF of my daily steps . . . they are great motivators to get up, go OUTSIDE and get moving! Now I'm curious about this Desk Cycle (I work from home) . . . I'll be looking into it . . . good luck as you continue your journey and congrats on adding a new family member this weekend (I suspect you'll be too busy and preoccupied with your new furry friend to fall off track)!

Outstanding on both counts -- but especially the dog! He will definitely take you walks. My dog takes me for a 30-40 minute walk every morning, and several on weekends. Plus, they come with love and laughter, of course. But you know that.
