I AM TOTALLY GOING TO BLOW THROUGH 275!!!


Okay, I can't say that for sure, but I was reading Kate's Blog on Optimism and I realized that I do need to start thinking positively.

But the above statement, I do actually believe, it's only 1.2 pounds to kill 275, and I totally believe that it is possible this week!

And another thing that's a little weird for me...

I was looking at the local gym, because the DH and I want to do some sessions with a personal trainer - me because I need focus, and him because he's getting near beyond the weights we have, and I think he has things he'd like to do that he can't do here, and wants some direction too. {wow that was a long winded explanation} Anyways... I was looking at the gym and it has a pool with a hot tub and I was thinking, I wonder if there is free swim time where we can just bob around in the pool and do nothing. I've never thought about just going to do something that would resemble exercise and equate it to relaxing! Very bizarre!

Anyways, I should get to bed, I'm going to go hang out with a friend tomorrow morning, so I can't sleep in as much as I wanted to, so I need to get to bed at a reasonable hour!

Good grief girl, could you actually be LIKING exercise?! What is the world coming to! Let me tell ya, last Saturday I told myself if I pushed it really hard with the leg workout that I would reward myself with a dip in the hot tub. OH. EHM. JEE. That alone is worth every penny of the membership fees.

I rather think you will. It's not that far, and you can make it through that benchmark, as we used to say, with ease and distinction. Exercise starts to grow on you, let me tell you. When I started at the gym, I weighed 286. It's helped me come down to under 201 in 10 months. Not so much losing weight, but toning the body.

Very true - the DH and I are talking about joining a gym and for the first little while having a personal trainer help us set something up and check that we're using good posture and form when doing the exercises so that we don't hurt ourselves. I was saying to a friend today - when I work out and the next day I'm sore - I'm always wondering if I'm sore because I worked out well, or because I did the move slightly wrong. So I think I need a little guidance and hopefully the old pocketbook doesn't take too much of a hit on the process!

Hi Brandy! I think you will get great results from joining a gym - in February '11 when I started my program in earnest (after diddling about for a year or so), I hadn't been in a gym in 15+ years. I weighed 278 at that point, and I haven't looked back! With each challenge I give myself I celebrate a little each time, small steps that all add up to a fit body, mind, and spirit. Most gyms that have pools have open pool time just to swim, the YMCA I used to belong to did. The best advice I can offer is to make sure you are warming up and cooling down properly, they will help prevent injury thus stalling your program. Yes there are going to be days you will be sore... I am sore today because it was time to push into higher arm weights and I can tell I did so! The trainer will be a big help. You keep that spirit up and I will be cheering you on the whole way!
