So -- I'm back. It's taken a while to get the badness out of my system...longer than I thought it would, but it actually feels good to go through a day again eating only the good stuff. New addition: Last week I ordered chocolate protein powder and used it in a cold coffee drink for the first time this afternoon. It was delicious and really filling, and I'm hoping that using this approach will stave off hunger, lower my total carbs for the day, and bump up my protein. I want to get my calories back down to 1350, because that's how I lost the first 50 pounds, but I also want to avoid the hunger pangs that showed up in April, which I responded by bumping up my calories to around 1500. I know lots of people lose weight at 1500 or above -- but I don't and never have, even when I was younger. So I just have to accept that the 1500 level other people can diet on is my maintenance diet. Had a good day today...and plan to continue tomorrow and thereafter.

Diet Calendar Entry for 08 August 2011:

Heeeeey, good to see you back!! That chocolate protein powder sounds good. I have a regular non-flavored kind that's almost gone. Been thinking about getting a chocolate kind but haven't decided on a brand. What kind did you get?

Ruby -- I got Unjury Classic Chocolate. I was very hesitant about this stuff, but I am really enjoying it. I add half a scoop to my hot cocoa or to coffee, and it's turning out to be really good. Make sure you have a thermometer though if you are going to add to a hot beverage. The package tells you that if you add it to anything hotter than 130 degrees, the textue will change. If you want my recipes for what I've been making, message me. I've pledged not to weigh in again until September 1, so I hope by then I'll see some progress. Hope all is well.

Thanks. I'm doing fine. I can't get Unjury here. Little rural town ya know:) Will have to check online. Summer has flown by and with Fall around the corner, I like the idea of chocolate lol.

I admire you for the weight you have lost and for jumping back into the FS site too. My thing is having a low carb chocolate drink (Atkins works) at night ... or chocolate something... LOL! Calorie free, fat free chocolate pudding or one square of 85% Cocoa chocolate candy. I might be weird but it has to be chocolate. I saw your chocolate protein drink and wondered if you feel the same way I do.. chocolate makes me happy. LOL!
