Talked to a good friend of mine, and long story short, in addition to trying to intake less calories than I expend, I will also try to aim to get the right kind of calories. I will also no longer record my exercise so I can get a minimalist view of my deficit. I will aim for, based on my current weight of 158 lbs, 47.4 grams of fat, 124.4 grams of protein and as few carbs as possible.
