I think it will be tough! I actually just edited it, and upped the fat and calories. After recording my planned meals for the day, I realized the previous numbers weren't realistic, and I'd end up off track very easily. One thing I've learned is that if I'm going to stick with something, it has to be simple. Once it gets too complicated, I'm out!

Thanks, guys! I've never done the whole "macro" thing before, so this is new to me. I'm going to try and stick with it for at least a month and see if it helps. I used to lose weight so easily, but my hypothyroidism has wrecked my body. So frustrating!!

The hardest part will be to hit those numbers each day. It looks like I will need to plan my entire day of eating to ensure I reach them. Planning isn't a bad thing, though, lol!

Thanks, Kelly! So far it's been hard to hit those numbers, but I just keep trying!

Great Macro combo. I have mine down pretty much to the same percentages, and just stick to the same meals each day. Personally, it is very simple foods, I enjoy them, and have not gotten board with the choices. Since I actually see results not only physically and blood work wise, that is pretty much the inspiration.

That's great, Niel! I've noticed that the ones that stick within their numbers seem to do well... I'm hoping my body reacts the same way :) Trying to have a variety in meals has been my challenge thus far. I get bored quickly with the same foods, but when I change things up, I have trouble hitting those numbers. I know it will take time, but if I stick with it I'll get used to it and learn different food combos that work.

Niel, I do have a question... Since our macros are similar, do you have any good tips or meals to recommend? Thanks!

My husband (Cozwey) cooks with whipping cream, spices, olive oil, spaghetti squash, cauliflower, mushroom. I think the key is the spices!!!! Because when we have non dieting friends over for dinner they love the food and not only clean their plate they have seconds and thirds.

Dessert last night was a baked Quest bar with whip cream sweetened with Stevia. Yum Yum

Jessberry, You are using a Keto Calculator, and this is great. Some people may not agree, and that is just my opinion. And I respect 100% their opinion. It was not an easy endeavor, but I finally figured mine out. I basically wrote down all the fats I like (MUFA’s and PUFA’s), proteins, and low carbs with high fiber. Sitting in from of the computer with the Keto Calculator I use, just plugged in foods and sizes. What I did noticed, was if I change the serving size to weight, versus ounces, I could better fine tune it. My schedule is very unique, so I can basically choose my destiny and that is my choice. As one breathes everyday, with lungs that we have are voluntary, and involuntary. Yes we can hold are breath, and stop our lungs, but 99% of the time they just are involuntary. Everyday, as with this small, and crude comparison, I eat avocados, olive oil, and almonds. For me, those are the high MUFA‘s and PUFA‘s I enjoy. Salmon is at least twice a day. Fiber - obviously the avocados, asparagus, and artichokes. Basically, if the fat and protein numbers are skewed, I adjust with almonds, and olive oil. With my unique lifestyle of getting up abnormally early, I have a personal goal of walking 30,000 steps/day. Tomorrow starts a new challenge “How many miles can you walk/run in 12 weeks.” My goal is 1250 miles which is 15 miles a day, and in the later part of March, to walk 50 miles in one day. Research fats and proteins you like. I am fortunate I love avocados, salmon, and seafood. On the turn of the card, before this transformation, red meat was my stable, and it had better not been cooked/grilled for more that 2 minutes/side. It has been my choice not to eat it. Do I miss it, like winning the lottery. On January 28, 2015 I went to Cardiologist for 6 months visit. My cardiologist and his team are world renowned for reversing cardiovascular disease by lifestyle changes, diet and exercise. Honestly, very fortunate to have a nutritionist, that before now, I would question everything she was guiding me to do. Well on this visit, when she went thru my food log, she basically said….Ok, it’s perfect. (Hi Fat, Hi Protein, low Carb). My main cardiologist “your blood pressure is to low, way low. He cut one medication out completely, and lowered two other medications. Jessberry, you can do it. It’s all about putting the time into it, and doing research. What Keto Calculator is the best, it does not matter. I found one I like, and it works for me. Do I have the days of throwing in the towel….yep….but I think of 2 daughters, 13yrs. and 14yrs., and take the towel, stuff in back pocket and move forward.
