Kingstephen's Journal, 03 February 2015

OK first up, huge thanks to Sandy for writing and welcoming me back, and for telling me my journal had mysteriously gone private, that's now rectified. Truthfully I thought I would sneak back in yesterday and no-one would notice, much less care, I would just slink around do my thing and sit quietly in the corner watching as I know I had let myself down and my journey had hit a few speed bumps in the road, and really? who would care? So Sandy thank you from the bottom of my heart.

So: as at least one person wants to actually read my verbal dribble here goes: Ok my tale of woe? well before Christmas all was going well, except while working out with my PT I hurt the ligaments of my right foot and had to ease up on the exercise regime, but I had to go to Thailand for two weeks for my brothers wedding also, so what with that and Christmas OK I would take time off from the gym and rest up. Also lets be honest here, it was holidays and I went off the diet, no lifestyle plan - well it was holidays and I could always make it up - couldn't I? After Christmas we had sold our house and had to move, my foot was heaps better, but moving furniture bugger I twisted the other foot and tore a tendon in it. So I stayed away from exercise, and for some weird unexplainable reason - OK I can explain it LAZINESS I also stayed off the diet. Right now Im sitting here shaking my head at my own dumbness having forgotten my own 'mantra' (that I stole from someone else) exercise plus diet great result - diet no exercise fair result - no diet no exercise bad result. Seriously I must have OD'd on the stupid tablets.

So my foot slowly got better, and over this last weekend we were going out to a show, went to get dressed and my 'going out to a show' pants were too tight, jumped on the scales (we had moved and they were packed away) and shock horror saw the damage.

So yesterday saw the re-introduction of good habits, and slinking back here, hoping no one would notice, but oh so glad someone did and here I am.

No gym yesterday, but did start with a mini fast - nothing before late lunch time then kept the intake (including a family dinner) to under 1200 cals, so Im thinking a good start. Today I ventured back to he gym, one of the PTs saw me arrive and yelled out across all the sweating grunting (thinner than me) people at the top of her voice: 'HEY STEVE WELCOME BACK WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?"

OMG did I struggle through a workout - and I kept it fairly sensible, some HIT on the bike, weights, but tried to work with intensity, and some exercise machines as a long slow warm down. My poor disused muscles are all a quiver, but I feel great and wonder why did I stop this? DUH!

Its nice to be missed/welcomed back to a healthier lifestyle, so Hi to all my old buddies here, and I hope I catch up with your journals and see what you've all been up to, and where you are at with your journey. OK Im back :)
