191 lbs this morning ... I did a double take! So close to the 180s.
I spent today meeting with the Vendor and the client related to a project I may take on during my sabbatical - long day. I sat in the boardroom not quite believing that I was there considering acceptance of the project. Within a short time it felt less surreal. The fact is, I have something to prove to myself. I feel the need to flex my PM muscle doing something I have not done in years (My job has been focused on building international PPM strategy for the company I have taken a sabbatical from since last year, and not the hands-on Proj. Mgmt I started with years ago). With this project I would get my hands "dirty". I have to drive the unknown to successful completion with my creative thinking, ability to harmonize the needs of many players and a bit of PM "Science". The client is a major international retailer that will remain nameless. They are getting into ecommerce in Canada for the very first time and I am being asked to work with all the stakeholders on the pilot as the integration Project Manager. It's a big deal! It's scary and exciting at the same time! I want to prove to myself that I can do something independently and make it a success ......If it fails ... well, let me not say it because it's not an option . I still have not signed yet .. but I am so close. I'll tell you something, the money is good but that's not the important thing - I need to prove that I have transitioned over the last several months on my sabbatical. I need to prove to myself that I know how to hit the brakes and how to take downtime and how to achieve balance and how to live a life that is not defined by a clock and that I don't have to be a workaholic to prove that my success is not a fluke. This pilot may be just the test I need - 190 days. So there it is .... another test. I never knew I could get this far with my weight loss either ... I look at myself in the mirror and I am often surprised at the smaller, more attractive and energetic lady that stares back at me. Where have you been lady? Welcome home!
