Quick run down of things:
Yesterday was my weigh-in & measurement day, needless to say I didn't post anything. I did weigh-in & measure but in order to keep my sanity I had to pretty much let it go for the day. Putting anymore conscious thought into it was going to send me over the edge.

I'll put up the numbers later just to document, but ALL of my measurements are up (esp in my legs), I was up 2lbs from Mon, and a total of 6lbs from the beginning of the year (No wonder why my pants don't fit!!). I know part of that is due to my workout schedule. I'm not sure there's a single day in the week that I'm not retaining water &/or SUPER "puffy" from all the weight lifting.

BUT . . .

Deficit-wise this is the break down: Jan I should have lost 12lbs & Feb I should have lost 10lbs. Last month I averaged 2200 cals eaten/day & burned an average of 3400 cals/day, so my average daily deficit was 1200 cals. Jan was much better, averaged 1400 cals deficit. Because of the lack of ANY weight-loss whatsoever, I figured that I may as well eat at maintenance level b/c there isn't a single calorie intake range that has made a difference.

Frustrated?? No, it's rainbows & butterflies for me. . . At least things are good with my personal trainer. I didn't bring this up with him b/c I probably would have started crying out of frustration & screwed my whole workout.

Still working on getting into the student health center to get a physical. I've never in the 20 times that I've had my thyroid checked WANTED there to be a problem. But after 2 yrs of concentrated effort, busting my ass like never before & get NOTHING in return, I need this to be the issue. I came to find out last night that both my uncles have thyroid issues as well & one almost died b/c his was barely even functioning. So, as odd as it may sound, my fingers are crossed that this is the issue & that getting on medication will fix the problem. I don't want to think of how things will be if it's NOT the issue.

Alright, time to run to class.

**EDIT**
Calorie Deficits
Jan: 40,301 = 11.51lbs
Feb: 36,180 = 10.34lbs

This all sounds so demoralising. All my fingers are crossed for you. Good luck. xx

I know we do not know each other but my fingers crossed that you actually get an answer as to what is wrong. I know that with my thyroid I did nothing but gain weight with out the meds even while trying, and it is SOOOO frustrating because you make the effort only to see the number either stay the same or go up. I would say keep doing what you're doing and you will see the difference but that may not be the case. Keep your chin up girl and hopefully things turn around soon.

Well that is a crap fest. I hope that a problem is found and fixed for you. (wow that feels weird to say that) at least the found part.. I for sure feel good about the fixed part.. anyway.. gl with all of that and keep your game face on.

Definitely head to student health and see what's going on. It sounds like you are working extra hard, yet not seeing any results. Something's gotta give!!! Still planning on heading to Chico in May...hope to see you then :)

I hope they find the issue! You're such a hard worker and to see the work not come to fruition, there's got be something! I assume you're going to an endocrinologist...tell them to scan your pituitary. I saw a show in which there was a tiny benign tumor on a woman's pituitary gland (who was overweight and couldn't figure out why she couldn't lose it) and as soon as they removed it, her weight dropped dramatically. It's just a thought...her case was a crazy medical mystery and that's what solved it, but it could be the same...you never know!

@ Mel - Lol, living in a "medical" family, this actually isn't as rare as the show probably made it seem. At one point in my teens they were considering this put my function was fine. I didn't have any indication of a problem (as always). I think they tend to only opt for the scan when you've been taking thyroid meds & nothing is happening. Sadly I will be seeing whoever is at the student health center. Highly doubt they have an endocrinologist on staff & I can't afford to pay out of pocket to see one either. If blood tests can't figure out something & I get referred to a specialist, I'm screwed big time. I definitely won't stop what I'm doing b/c working out is the only "me" time I ever get & it makes me feel good, plus I'm just about to get my mile in under 15 mins. If I keep working at it I may just get it down to 12 mins by the end of the semester. It's just beyond frustrating to have been working SO hard for SO long & nothing is happening. If I hadn't jumped off the "sugar substitute" train I was on, I truly believe I'd still be fluctuating in the 250s. Worst is when EVERYONE asks me why I haven't lost any weight (based off visual confirmation) if I'm posting on FB that I'm working out all the time & displaying pics of my food. Then it becomes this,"She must be lying" issue. It's exhausting. And like Fer said, it IS demoralizing. No one pats you on the back for staying fat & working out hard. NO ONE!!

Well I pat you on the back for continuing to work out even if you are staying fat at this moment. I really think us fat people who work out but don't see the results or have problems acheiving the results we want deserve a pat on the back because we keep going back and trying, also just think how healthy you're heart and lungs are now compaired to what they were a few months ago....

Lol, thanks Pixi! My heart & lungs do continually get better & better. ;0)

Just made my appointment for the physical & blood tests. It's not till the 23rd BUT I can go in during my Spring Break for drop-in hours to do it then (which is what I intend to do).

Man, that really stinks. Well, you might be the "fittest fat person in America!" Well, at least you realize what a benefit the exercise has for you even if you aren't losing. I truly hope they find out the problem too. If it is the thyroid, I hope it will be an easy cure for you.

I hope you get some answers!!!! I know it's one of the most frustrating feelings EVER!!!!

I cannot believe that anyone would not believe you...what the heck is that about. If that is how they act toward you, then they don't deserve your time or energy. You have more important things to occupy your time, like your workouts and how awesome you are becoming!
