For the first time since my foot surgery in August I was finally able to get out and enjoy a nice hike. It was a beautiful day and I was lovely to feel the warm sun on my (sunscreen protected!) shoulders. I love to hike so much - it's not just for my body for for my soul, too. I love the peace and quiet and time where I can just appreciate all that I have and all that is around me. It was wonderful to see the regeneration of nature after our fires a few years back. The big old oaks that were just black, charred, empty trunks now are thick with green growth and overhang. The animals are all flourishing this spring, but a close encounter with a coyote cut the hike a bit short. Unfortunately my little dog looks a bit too much like lunch to those guys. But it was wonderful to be out and to be getting some soul enriching exercise.
