GlennM's Journal, 16 February 2009

Doing well, had two small pieces of pizza yesterday evening at a neighbor's place, she invited me over. (So I cheated a bit but I won't do it again for some time)...The days are getting longer with the sunlight so the temp has been above freezing for quite a few days if barely, and is supposed to be at least in the thirties all week with no more snow expected so much of it will probably be melted except those messy, dirty piles of it. Next month or in April I'm getting a bike, maybe a new computer with tax return money. So me and some neighbors are planning some biking expeditions on nice days like weekends when the weather is good on the bike trails. Toto continues to follow me like a shadow, I would have named her 'Shadow' if she had originally been mine, sometimes I call her that anyway, but she'll be nine on March 1, so it is a bit late to change her name. She loves to go out of course, so is getting me exercising every day when I wasn't before...

Biking expeditions with the neighbors is a great idea! You can get to know the neighbors better as well as getting some good exercise. :)

I live in a great area, the apartment isn't big but I'm so close to downtown, and there's a huge all girl college like a half-mile away, the library is near there, then downtown, lots of beautiful churches and about twenty-five years ago the downtown was fixed up slowly and is very beautiful and not run-down as it is in many small towns across America. There is a bike path that goes to two colleges in a town two towns away, then they're connecting it through sort of to the town I grew up in also in the opposite direction. And also to the south in the years ahead I've been told too. It's snowing now, not heavily so it is very beautiful out right now - steady though. It's not as exciting as living in Los Angeles or in Honolulu but it is OK for now and there are lots of successful writers here. I know one moderately successful one, she isn't a household name or anything...
