206 lbs. Things are going well. I am eating well and planning ahead in order to stay focused. Having food prepared ahead of time so that when you are hungry you are able to heat it up and eat quickly is the key to success. For example, this morning I was hungry 1 hour earlier than previous mornings. I was able to whip up some eggs quickly and add it to my left over ground beef. I had breakfast ready in less than 10 minutes. Now I am full and satisfied. I added the organic Celtic gray sea salt to my meal .. gosh that salt is delicious! In addition to getting my sodium intake where it needs to be, I am getting my full day's worth of minerals at the same time. I look forward to my pot roast dinner ... it was a wonderful cut and cooked to perfection. It has been a great low carb week for me so far - I will collect the dividends down the road as the weight falls off. I would love to go outside and hit the pavement for a long walk - however, it is extremely cold (feeling -30 outside) and we are expecting more snow ... yeesh! If I see another flake I am going to throw up! I just have to keep remember that Spring is almost here ... I think March 21 is the first day of Spring (hurry Spring ... I am waiting for you!)

Hello Knsloving: I am not able to tell if you are ketosis based on your diet but I did take a look at it just to see if you are eating low carb, etc. What I did notice is that your intake of protein is low ... I find that I need to have a good amount of protein and fats at the same time that I am lowering my carbs. Remember you can't lower all of them at the same time because your body needs to get it's energy from some source and if it's not carb it has to be protein (converted to glucose)/fat. I know that everyone's body is very different and unique but let me share with you some of the ways that I know when I am in ketosis. 1. Just before getting into ketosis (based on several days of eating low carb, good proteins and high fat) I have carb withdrawal headaches, I am achy and feel generally unwell (apparently this can be reduced by upping your salt intake to about 1 tsp a day). 2. My body temperature is slightly higher than normal (not a fever but generally warmer). 3. First thing that happens when I am in Ketosis, is that my appetite drops and I am satisfied with eating less frequently and less food (At this point I start eating based on hunger and I don't have the carb cravings anymore). 4. I feel good and energetic. 5. Clearer thinking and feel stronger 6. Less bloated 7. Weight loss There are also some people who report a change in body order and keto breath, but I don't experience those (again I increase my sea salt intake and drink lots of water to help excrete the ketones so this may be one of the reasons I don't "stink")

You are so welcome Sharon ... have yourself a great day. One thing I had to learn with this way of eating is perseverance. There were many, many days when I did not see the results but I had to push through it. It wasn't always easy and it didn't always feel good - I am still going to hang in there because I know it will work. I wish the same for your - perseverance and success. Sending you good vibes and prayers! :)
