Good Evening, FS Warriors! This has been quite a day. Got to sleep in till 6:00 this morning since I took the day off to take DW to hospital to get her port removed. It was cold. Got in the van and turned the key, couldn't tell if it was running because my hands were shivering so much. Got to the hospital about 15 minutes early and DW spent the next hour and a half telling the nurse what meds she was still on, why she quit taking other meds, and why two different docs were prescribing different doses of the same meds. Then she was off to surgery. Got out of there at 12:30. I guess anytime you get out of the hospital before shift change, you should consider the day a success. So, went off to Golden Corral to reward ourselves. Now, I know I'm getting so fat that to haul ass I've got to take 3 trips, but never mind that, food was great. I'm not going to tell you that I tried lasagna, fried chicken, yellow corn and bread pudding, but I did wrestle the carb monster and lost.
Got home and decided that the Jillian Michaels Shred workout wasn't doing me any good without a TV downstairs, so I put the new 32" TV in the bedroom, and took the 21 in. downstairs, hooked up the DVD player and got ready to rock and roll. Inserted the workout video and watched the entire level 1 twenty-five minute workout. I was a little tired after watching it, but heart rate was still in the acceptable realm. Decided to go feed the dogs and top off the kerosene heater.
Then I came back out and decided to give the workout a try. It looked like such weenie exercises, but I was winded after the warmup, so I was either a weenie, or this workout was tough. So, I decided the workout was tougher than I had anticipated. Oh great! 5 minutes into this thing, and I realize one thing: the furnace was turned up way too high! Seriously, my aerobic fitness level has gone way south, so I did what I could, as hard as I could, for as long as I could, and will hopefully do a little better each day. I guess, if I'd have just plugged in the DVD, and did the whole workout without struggling, it would have suggested that I wasted my money. So, I guess I didn't waste my money. Going to let this thing help get me back on track. I should be able to combine this with the treadmill workouts and hopefully, get back up to speed in the most expedited fashion. Anyway, that's the plan.
Anyway, I don't even want to look at food this evening. As far as I'm concerned, that's a good start. I took the first step this evening, and a 1,000 mile journey begins with a single step. Let the journey begin! Toodles!
