Danyellehawkins's Journal, 28 January 2014

I am addicted to the gym. I am always thinking about when I can get there, how much time I will have there and when I can get back. Day one of January was me trying to get myself there. As I have learned along the way, you have to make things difficult for yourself. Any dependency or over indulgence is not good. So here I begin 7 days of gym deprivation. Sounds crazy right? This doesn't mean I am allowed to be a slacker. It means I need to be creative and incorporate other ways of being active into my days. So, hello mother nature! I'm coming for a visit :)

Hi, I can't imagine being addicted to a gym but I suppose it's like anything that takes over your thinking. Good and healthy alternative though. I'm the opposite, trying to be creative to take any exercise even down to not bring everything downstairs so I have to go back up again...crazy old world we live in. All the best with Mother Nature :-)

I think it's great that you are/were addicted to the gym. I wouldn't avoid it. I would be grateful. But being active, regardless of how you do it, is what's most important. Kudos to you for doing what's right for you :)

Just trying to take a easy going approach to this whole thing. Stress creates a release of hormones in your body that makes you hold on to weight. Creating a manifestation in my mind that I have to go to the gym every day is stressful. So this is to bring down that stress response to feeling like I have to go there. Thats all :)

I understand :) It's not good to be obsessed, and you're right about that stress hormone.
